Teletherapy

Teletherapy

Do you need speech therapy support for yourself, your child or other family members? In the current situation, would you like to reduce your personal contacts as much as possible? The speech therapy practice in your area does not have any capacity at the moment and you would like to start therapy as soon as possible?

In addition to face-to-face therapy, we currently offer teletherapy. For the first time in history, teletherapy via video conferencing has been approved for speech therapy by the leading health insurance associations. This means that it is covered in full by statutory and private health insurance. Apart from the co-payment (statutory health insurance), there are no further costs for you.

The health insurance fund covers the costs.

Statutory health insurance funds are expected to allow teletherapy until 30 September 2021.

What are the advantages of teletherapy?

Teletherapy via video conferencing is the best way to minimise the risk of spreading the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) to our patients and therapists.

Further advantages of teletherapy:

  • New admissions or continuation of existing therapy without interruption
  • Contactless and risk-free therapy in the home environment
  • No need to travel to therapy or home
  • No waiting time in the waiting room

Frequently asked questions:

Which conditions/disorders can be treated with teletherapy?

  • Voice disorders
  • Speech disorders – e.g. speech development disorders in children, disorders following strokes and neurological diseases such as Parkinson's
  • Speech disorders – e.g. lisping, grammatical development disorders in children, multilingualism, English as a foreign language
  • Fluency disorders, e.g. stuttering

and many other conditions – we would be happy to advise you at one of our practices in Lichtenberg North, Lichtenberg South, Pankow, Märkisches Viertel or Bernau near Berlin.

Can the entire therapy be carried out as teletherapy?

Yes, it is possible to provide the entire therapy for the above-mentioned disorders and therapy scenarios via teletherapy. Occasionally, it makes sense to have the initial assessment take place in person.

Is teletherapy suitable for every patient?

No, it may be that your personal situation, the situation of your relatives or the individual therapy requires targeted and face-to-face therapy in one of our practices. Our staff will be happy to advise you.

What technical requirements are necessary?

  • Internet connection or sufficient data volume
  • Wi-Fi-enabled device – e.g. laptop, tablet, smartphone with a display that is large enough for you

Patient information on tele-therapy with ZOOM

We recommend the "ZOOM" programme for teletherapy. Zoom is easy to use and can be used even if you do not have any special computer skills. Specifically, we will use the first free 15-minute session to discuss whether and to what extent therapy is necessary for you.

Speech Development Disorder Day

For several years now, there have been international initiatives to raise awareness of speech and language disorders (SES). This year's campaign slogan is: #SES-Schau hin! (Look! SES). The Berlin-based practice Logolo would like to participate this year and provide information about this online.

What is speech therapy? - Frequently asked questions and answers

When it comes to learning language, there are enormous differences even in childhood. Some learn language very quickly, while others need more time. Problems arise in understanding grammar, among other things, but also in learning vocabulary. A particularly well-known condition is dyslexia, a reading and spelling disability that makes it difficult for those affected to convert spoken language into written language and vice versa.
