In Transition

Voice therapy with trans* people

Voice work with trans*, inter and queer people

Our voice plays a major role in how we are perceived. We want it to support and highlight our personality, to make people enjoy listening to us and to allow us to enjoy the sound of our own voice. As voice experts, we would like to accompany you on your journey in a safe environment. You can try things out and we can work together to achieve your ideal voice.

In voice training, you learn to train your voice and support its transformation so that it feels right for you. It is important to us to work towards a target voice that is resilient and healthy, and that expresses your personality, regardless of whether it is more feminine, masculine, a combination of both, or something else entirely.

You and the team

To make this possible, we work in many areas of voice and speech that you will learn to perceive and, if necessary, change without overloading your voice. To do this, it is important to be able to recognise and influence vocal problems early on. This aspect is therefore a consistent part of the therapy.

Some of us therapists are trans* & queer ourselves and have many years of everyday experience in this field. We offer our therapies in German and English.

We look forward to meeting you!

Costs/Coverage

The treatment is usually covered by health insurance for two courses of 10 therapy sessions. If necessary, we can help you justify any additional therapy requirements. The statutory co-payment for a prescription for therapeutic remedies is £10 per prescription plus 10% of the treatment costs.

A prescription for remedies, which includes an initial consultation and 10 therapy sessions, can be issued by general practitioners, neurologists, ENT specialists or phoniatrists.

Analysis & Advice

As humans, we have the ability to acquire language and use it to communicate. We talk to each other and use our voices to do so. This requires that we are able to hear, that our voices are normally developed, and that we are able to articulate.

Children & Young People

Children should enjoy learning, and the aim of our therapies is to strengthen specific skills, reduce deficits and promote performance in the relevant therapeutic field. Parent counselling is also an essential part of the therapy.

Speech therapy in adulthood

Speech and language disorders can also occur in adults, for example due to aphasia caused by damage to certain areas of the brain. Language impairments in adults can be either congenital or acquired.
